About Silvermist Russian Blue

"Silvermist started with one cat and a quiet love for the breed."

I've kept cats most of my life, but the first time a Russian Blue walked into my home, something shifted. The quiet way she watched a room, the soft chirp she'd make at the window, the way she'd press her forehead into my hand at the end of the day. After raising a few litters and watching families fall in love with these kittens, I decided to focus on the breed for good. You can read about our full adoption process any time.

Today Silvermist is a small in-home cattery in Grand Prairie, Texas. Every Russian Blue kitten is raised in our living room, handled daily, and leaves with vet checks, vaccinations, and a real understanding of what life with a Russian Blue looks like. See who is available right now.

Common Questions From Texas Families

Frequently Asked Questions

Short, honest answers to the questions we get most often from families thinking about adopting a Russian Blue kitten.

It is pretty simple. Have a look through our available kittens, and once you find one that feels right, email us or fill out the contact form. We will set up a quick call or message thread to talk about your home, what you are looking for, and your timing. From there, we can put a hold on your kitten and plan pickup or delivery.

Our kittens leave home at 12 weeks old at the earliest. By that age they are fully weaned, using the litter box on their own, eating solid food, and they have had their first round of vaccines. Twelve weeks gives them enough time with their littermates and mom to learn how to be a confident, well-balanced cat.

Yes. Every kitten goes home with a written health guarantee, current vet records, and proof of vaccinations. We also do a wellness exam shortly before pickup so you know exactly where things stand.

Once you put a deposit on a kitten, we take that kitten off the market and stop talking to other interested families. Because of that, deposits do not refund. If something serious changes on your end, talk to us. We have moved deposits to a future litter before when it made sense.

They are raised in our living room from day one. They hear the TV, the dishwasher, kids in the next room, the dog walking by. We handle them every day, trim their nails, get them used to a carrier, and let them meet a variety of people. By 12 weeks they are not surprised by much.
